Rhett-15 months old

Official 15 month stats from his well visit:

Weight-22 lbs, 4 oz: 41st percentile
Height-32.5 in: 90th percentile
Head circumference-18.5 in: 55th percentile
BMI: 15.5

-One big development is that all four molars decided to pop through in month 15! It has definitely caused him some pain and disrupted his sleep (more than usual), but the worst seems to be over.

-We are done with the special iron supplement...Hooray! His hemoglobin was 11.8 at his 15 month visit, so well within normal range. We will still give him a multivitamin with iron in it, but we are done with the super strong supplement.

-His doctor said he is right on track as far as development, and he was a happy little guy during his appointment until it was time for his shots :(

-He still wont eat vegetables or most fruits, but he is doing great otherwise with his eating. His current favs: Grilled cheese, cereal bars, goldfish, pancakes. Actually, when I type it out, it doesnt sound all that healthy. I still give him a fruit option with every meal, but he throws it. I am going to have to start sneaking it in things. He is on a yogurt strike right now and wont even take one bite.

-He is still nursing and I dont see him giving it up any time soon. I already know this one is not going to give it up without a fight. I plan on having about 5 more months of nursing. I nursed Jackson until he was just shy of 2 years old, and I want to do the same for Rhett.

-Anyway you slice it, his sleep through the night is just not good. Some nights are promising (wake 1-2 times), but they are just a tease because the next night is usually really bad as far as his fussing/waking. Still patiently waiting for the molars to fully come in before I reevaluate and come up with a plan to get him sleeping better at night.

-He loves music and his current favs are: The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, 5 Little Monkeys, Enya, and Paul Simon's "You can call me Al". Yes, you read that right!

-He has learned to scribble with crayons and play with playdough, although he still tries to eat it when he thinks I am not looking. He also loves to throw/kick a ball, zoom cars around, play with flashcards, and he absolutely adores reading books and being read to.

-Some new words: Chocolate/cookie (they sound the same), Disney, Love, teeth, tooth, toes

-Speaking of toes, he loves to point out body parts for me to tell him what they are. He especially loves pointing out my mouth, teeth, nose, and eyes.

-He has starting getting louder and more dramatic when he doesnt get his way. He pitches a decent fit with a frown that just breaks your heart. The good news is that it doesnt last long. He has begun retaliating against Jackson and will hit him if he gets mad. We are teaching him that it is not ok to do that.

-Otherwise, both boys play great together, although a little too wild for my liking. Boys will be boys, I guess. Love these so much!

Updates: Date night, Father's Day 2013, Anniversary Trip, 4th of July

Just a few family updates:

-Me and Justin have begun having weekly date nights! Hoooray! It has been so fun. We found a wonderful babysitter from our church who watches Rhett during the day and who also babysits both boys for date night. The boys just love her, which is awesome! Anyway, We wake up the morning of and say "DATE NIGHT!" and love trying out different new restaurants and things to do. Since it had been ages since we went out on a date, we have been out of the scene for awhile. So far we have gone out for drinks/to eat at H.alls Chophouse, C.oast, S.outhend Brewery, The G.in Joint, A.ccent on Wine, Oscars, The Grocery, G.raze, and we have also been to see two movies: The Hangover 3 and N.ow you see me. Needless to say, our bank account has taken a bit of a hit :), but it is worth it! We go out from 4:30-7:30 so that we are home in time to bathe both boys and put them to bed.

-Of course with our indulgence in date night, we had to start hitting the gym more, so we have begun getting back to working out. Justin goes about 4-5 times a week and I try to go 3 times/week, although with work being so busy, it has been closer to twice per week. I would like to go 4 times per week, but life/work is keeping me super busy. I have just got to start making it more of a priority. Justin is losing weight quickly, but I am only down .5 lbs of my pre-baby weight. I really need to tone up more, and lets face it-Its only going to get harder to lose the older I get.

-Here are a few pics from Father's Day 2013:

It was a nice day and we made Justin breakfast and then spent some time at the outlets. Both boys were a bit uncharacteristically fussy, but overall it was still a nice day for Justin!

-Last week we took the boys to S.plash Zone, which is a waterpark on James Island. It was Rhett's first trip and he loved it! He had so much fun "swimming" in the pool, floating in the lazy river, and watching all of the other kids play. As for Jackson, he was in Heaven! He went on the slides over and over and had a ball. At one point, he went running and jumped right into the deep end of the pool (5 feet) and headed straight for the bottom. Thankfully Justin was 2 steps behind him and pulled him right up.  I hope he learned his lesson, although he didnt seem upset by it at all. That boy is fearless! It just reinforced that we have got to get him in swim lessons asap. We tried signing him up at the beginning of the summer, but nothing worked with our schedules. We are signing him up for fall swim lessons and fall soccer as well. Both boys were tuckered out afterwards and Jackson keeps talking about it, so I know he had a ball.

-We finally pinned down our traditional anniversary trip. Of course, both boys come with us, so it had to be somewhere we can all go. We decided on another annual trip to Disney World, and we chose to stay at the Contemporary Resort this time. It is the one with the monorail going through it, and it is super convenient not to have to get the car out. We have made all of our fun dining reservations, and will be at the M.agic Kingdom for 3 whole days! We also have reservations to get Rhett's first haircut at the barber shop on Main St. in the M.agic Kingdom. He will get special Mickey Ears and a certificate. I hope he will look back one day and think that it was a pretty cool place to get a first haircut from!

Here are a few photos from the 4th of July this year. We had plans to attend a friend's pool party, but both boys got sick and we had to stay inside and have our own party.

Stay tuned-working on Rhett's 15month(waaaaay late) and 16 month old blog post, and Jacksons 4 year old post. Have been having all kinds of issues with Blogger :(
