11 Weeks

Here is my 11 week photo. Also, today we had our regular prenatal check-up and got to hear the baby's heartbeat via doppler. It was beating at 170 bpm. We have our next ultrasound on 2/9, where they will measure the baby's neck and give us odds of trisomy and down syndrome. I am praying that we hear wonderful news at the appt., and am looking SO forward to seeing our baby again. Unfortunately Justin is going to be out of town that day, but my mom will come with me to my appt!

Madame Zaritska's Prediction

I got this today and I thought it was too funny!! It is a website where you answer a few questions and it gives you a prediction about your pregnancy. Only time will tell if any of this will come true!! :)

"The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 17 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 19 inches long. This child will have light blue eyes and a lot of hair. But there is more. I get the impression that you have some questions -- unresolved concerns you have been too shy to address with your caregiver. This is quite typical. You might appreciate some of the advice to some of these seemingly embarassing pregnancy questions. With love, Madame Z"

10 Weeks!

I am so excited to be at 10 weeks. The baby is now considered a fetus instead of an embryo. This week, he/she is the size of a small plum!! I have put on about 2 pounds so far, and I am sure that is from the cheesy poofs, cheese fries, and tacos/enchiladas that I have been eating. BUT I have also been making sure to eat healthy fruits, vegetables, and protein as much as possible. I just have been having some moments of weakness!! Tollhouse cookies continue to make me gag, as well as salad and baked fish. I am looking forward to hearing the baby's heartbeat again next week at my drs appointment. Justin loves learning what new developments are happening with the baby each week. For example, this week, our baby's tail has disappeared! I think we were both glad to learn that!! HA!

Our baby at 9 weeks 3 days!!

Well, in order to make myself feel more assured that everything was ok, I put a call into my nurse so that she could reassure me that everything was fine. There is no reason for me to be worried, other than my lack of symptoms. When I talked to my nurse, it was 4 pm and the office was closing. She said that if I could make it there within 30 minutes that they would wait for me. I thought it was really nice of my OB to stay late to see me. I was expecting her to listen for the baby's hearbeat with a doppler, but she let me have a transabdominal ultrasound. I was SO happy to see that everything was still great. The baby measured on time, and the heartbeat was a strong 176 bpm. I love how you can see the little arms, legs, and budda belly!! My doctor didn't even charge me for the visit, which I thought was so nice of her. My next appointment is on Tues, 1/27.

9 Weeks

This is 9 weeks along and I think I look really bloated in this picture!! Justin has begun talking to the baby and it is really cute. He always starts off: "BABY, this is your Daddy....". I continue to be slightly nervous about my lack of nausea/vomiting, but am also thankful for it at the same time!!

8 Weeks

Here I am at 8 weeks along. I really don't feel much different now than before I was pregnant. I guess I should count my blessings, but it does worry me at times. Justin has been wonderful at taking care of me and has been doing a great job at making me feel less guilty for giving in to my food cravings....(aka Mexican!!) I have been having one very strong food aversion...Chocolate chip tollhouse cookies. Justin will make them sometimes and the smell makes me very queasy!!
